Talking Tuesday {4}

Today’s Question is:

What is your favorite book of the Bible and why?

My favorite book of the Bible is Psalms.
I really enjoy reading this book of the Bible since it has a lot of encouraging verses in it that really inspire me and help me get through the hard times in my life. I feel like there are so many verses in Psalms are meant just for me and apply to how I have felt before in certain circumstances. I felt alone before and wondered where God was in my life and verses in Psalms helped me feel God’s presence and reassured me that He was there with me. I feel like David felt the same way as I felt and I can associate to him better since he too questioned God in the hard times and expressed his feelings through Psalms.
There are also so many verses of praise and joy in the book that I feel helps encourage me when I am depressed or alone and help me feel better. Psalms also reminds me to be joyful even in hard circumstances when all seems lost and when things seem impossible. The verses in Psalms also assure me that we should have hope for what God might do through our circumstances and keep trusting in Him that He will do what is best. Whatever struggles I may be facing I know I can open up my Bible and read Psalms and feel better inside knowing that God inspired David to write these special words down so many years ago and they can still be applied to the circumstances I am facing right now in my life.

My favorite book of the Bible is Esther.:) I’ll just kind of jump nearer into the end of the book of Esther. When Esther heard about the decree that all the Jews would be killed, she didn’t have a big pity party for herself and sit back and say, “Oh well, there is nothing I can do about it!” No, she did something about it! To appear before the king when he hasn’t asked for you, is extremely dangerous. If he did not wish to see you, you’d be executed. But Esther was courageous, brave, caring, and had extreme faith in God. She believed in prayer too, and she had the Jews all pray & fast for her. If he did not hold out his golden scepter, she would be executed. But when she appeared before the king to ask him to save the Jews, he held out his scepter! She saved her people & did the right thing, though it meant risking her life. It was an extremely selfless act, and Esther puts a whole new meaning to the quote ‘only those who attempt the absurd achieve the impossible’. She is definitely one of my role models, and I strive to be like her!!:)

“I have three favorite books in the Bible. First one is Psalm because If I don’t know what to pray, sing, or read I always know that Psalm will have what I need! Second book is Proverbs because this book has a lot of advise for everything that goes on in my life! Third book is Hebrews because this book talks about faith and GOD says that with our faith we can’t please HIM! So I love all of these books of the Bible the most!”
Thank you for asking me to do this with you!

My 2 most favorite books of the Bible would probably be Esther and Ruth.  Both women were very brave to leave their homes.  I strive to be like both women in my daily life.
